Not all mouthwashes are bad, but Listerine is one that I’d toss 🗑️ Reasons: 1. 🦠 It disrupts the oral microbiome (no differentiation between good and bad bacteria) 2. Has been shown to decrease nitric oxide production, potentially leading to elevated blood pressure 🫀 3. Formulated with alcohol which dries out the mouth (amongst other things) 4. Acidic pH that pushes the enamel into a state of demineralization. One of my favorite hacks is to put toothpaste on floss and do a "spot treatment" on baby cavities that grow in between the teeth. This is the one area of the tooth that brushing alone cannot reach. Although there aren't many studies on this, I also feel it can't hurt. And much better than just "watching" a baby cavity hoping it reverses. #dentist #cavities #reversecavities #toothpaste #floss

As a Dentist, this is one of the top mistakes I see when patients floss. People think that flossing is simply to remove food chunks from in between the teeth. It’s so much more than that! With proper flossing, the floss should slide underneath the gumline to mechanically disrupt the plaque buildup. This INCLUDES behind that very last tooth!
