This past year has been full of devastating blows, both in my personal and professional life. It’s felt like I’ve been attacked from all angles. Some things were consequences of my own actions, and some things were just freak situations that no one ever could have predicted. This was one of those things. For those who know me personally, you know what a labor of love this house was. How much we poured into it, and exactly what was sacrificed to make it what it was. I’m still reeling from the initial process. I poured myself and my relationship out in such a way that I wasn’t even able to recap our original renovation process until now bc there was so much residual hurt that came from it. I know some people hate Airbnbs and think that they are made by soulless people looking to make a quick buck, but this house was anything but that. I poured my literal blood, sweat, tears, finances, emotional wellbeing, and finances into it. I loved this house bc it wasn’t just a house or a rental to me. I love it still. But now, this. I’m trying to get ready to talk about it in a real way. This is the start of that. Sometimes when situations and circumstances hurt us so badly we have to take time and process / recover from them before they can be revisited in any type of way. I know that doesn’t usually work for the internet. We live in an era of fast and immediate, here and now. Well this has been a process of slow and later. If you’ve read through this far, something must’ve resonated with you. Maybe it was my words, maybe just your own curiosity of what happened. Either way, I hope you’ll stick around for what’s to come. For the story of what happened, for the original journey of how this house came to be, and for the future promise of what it will become in these coming months as I put it back together again.
