Hi hi, we’ve been making some good jokes this week but all kidding aside we’re a couple tired out boys. If we’re quiet online for a bit just know we’re doing okay but we’re taking time for ourselves to just get through the weeds of it all. (And to get through all the 🌫️ too) Jers got his next round today but were squeezing In some beach time with @Yuma Dog for some rock hunting first #priorities Thanks for being here ❤️

As much as we’ve enjoyed the jokes, the last 6 weeks has been some of the hardest days we’ve ever had in our 23 years together. I’m in constant awe of Jeremy’s strength and determination. We’re celebrating his last day of treatment today and keeping all our positive vibes that in a few weeks we get the news we want. Thanks for allowing us the space to grieve and cope in the way we know best: by being absolute fools about it. We’re finally heading home tomorrow where I get to wear muumuus and frolic in my garden 🙌 Tolerate you all ❤️

Since Jer’s been hogging all the medical attention lately, I figured it was time for a little ME time. And by “me time,” I mean making sure ME sticks around for a long time. It’s not the same as what Jer’s going through, but colon cancer is one of the fastest-rising cancers — especially in younger people. And as a celiac, I’m no stranger to stomach issues. I learned early: there’s zero shame in talking to your doctor when something feels off. People love to complain about the prep for a colonoscopy — but I’ll take an uncomfortable 24 hours over missing out on years of life. Worth it. So go ahead: let them take a little lookie-loo up the poop chute. Your future self will thank you. Tolerate you.

Sure todays day 1 of cancer treatment for me, but it’s day 120 for my mother in law Cheryl. If I’ve got even a fraction of her strength, I’ll be just fine. Let’s do this 💪❤️ #fcancer

3 treatments down, 3 to go! Darcy has this great segment on his podcast about “where the joy is coming from,” and it’s been such a helpful reminder that even in tough times, there’s still joy to be found in the little things. This week, mine came from managing a couple of short dog walks and breaking out of hotel prison long enough to catch my niece’s ballgame. Yuma found her joy in the form of a random hunk of concrete she proudly held onto the entire game. Halfway there, and still finding joy—one chunk of concrete at a time
