As a woman, a Muslim woman… I get comments daily policing my hair, dress, speech, actions and even which hand I eat with. I get messages asking how I deal with it. So here’s the honest answer… - To be really clear here, it disgusts me that people think it’s ok to police anyone online. Especially the way it’s done so disrespectfully and nonchalantly. It’s morally wrong. However, there’s so many humans on this app with stuff going on that they haven’t dealt with and will project onto anyone but themselves. Enter YOU on their fyp, a stranger who seems happy. The perfect target. But… It’s not really about you. It’s about them. My advice to anyone who shares any part of themselves online or wants to - is to consider this part: No matter how kind, helpful or entertaining you are… it will happen and it is relentless and the platforms do nothing. You have to not care… accept it comes with the territory and keep those boundaries high and your self esteem and validation completely unreliant on others and the internet. And if you feature family or friends, don’t expect them to be off limits either. Some of the things I’ve read people say about disabled people and children on here is devastating. So be careful with what you share here. Final note: I learned to find my ‘haters’ funny, use their nonsense as content, block and move on. I wish my hair would grow as fast as my block list sheeeeeesh. 😂❤️ Now you know. #muslimwoman #womanpower
